2. Guidelines and essential elements for developing a research proposal.

3. Literature review writing & searching electronic databases.

4. Study designs (Observational &Interventional).

5. Study population sampling, and study variables.

6. Data collection methods and tools.

7. Principles of data presentation and analysis.

8. Ethics of research involving human subjects.

9. Writing a research report.

⭕بنهاية الدورة التدريبية يتوقع من الدارس أن يكون قادرًا على:

1. Define research, research methodology and explain its importance for health professions.

2. Discus basic concepts, characteristics, phases and types of medical and health research.

3. Select and prioritize a research topic/problem.

4. Explain elements required for developing and writing a research proposal.

5. Define literature review, explain its importance & write a sound, plagiarism free literature.

6. Conduct an effective search to retrieve needed information.

7. Cite references and related information sources correctly.

8. Define, explain and formulate research question & research hypothesis.

9. Write a research problem statement and rationale.

10. Explain characteristics, steps of different types of study designs.

11. Select suitable study design for research objectives.

12. Define and explain study population, sample, sample frame and sample unit.

13. Explain sample size calculation methods and calculate sample size.

14. Differentiate between probability and non-probability sampling methods.

15. Explain the different types of data collection methods and tools, and select the suitable data collection method for your study.

16. Define/explain importance and types of statistics (descriptive & inferential stat).

17. Select suitable statistics to describe & analyze your data.

Explain and apply ethical principles of research involving humans and/or animals. 

18. Write a research report (Thesis, dissertation and/or a manuscript for publication).
